MICROWAVING FRIED APPLES

Any variety of Apple will work in this recipe; however, some work better than others such as Golden Delicious, Granny Smiths, Romes and Winesap.

8—10 Medium size Apples, peeled & cored / and cut into sections or pieces.

2 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine

1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon

1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg

2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice

1/2 Cup Brown Sugar

Place prepared apples in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle lemon juice over apples and toss gently to coat. Sprinkle soft or melted butter or margarine over apples, add brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Toss gently until apples are coated evenly. Keep tossing (1-2 minutes) until apples begin to weep and a light glaze covers the apples.

Lightly butter a glass or microwave safe baking dish and pour apple mixture evenly into pan. Cover with plastic wrap and pierce for steam to escape. Microwave on high for 8-10 minutes. Stir and Microwave for 4-6 minutes more. Serve as a side dish to ham, pork, poultry, or eggs & biscuits. Also can be served hot as an ice cream topping, 4-6 servings. Delicious!

ENJOY! '
