FRESH FRUIT TOPPING & GLAZE

A jar of your favorite fruit jelly is all you need to make a quick, simple, yet delicious fresh Fruit Topping or Glaze. We prefer Apple or Cherry to glaze tarts, pie or cakes.

All you do is spoon jelly out of the jar into a mixing bowl or saucepan and stir briskly to loosen up jelly.  To make a more liquid texture, simply microwave in a non-metallic bowl for 1-2 minutes just enough to make the jelly pourable. In a saucepan, the same over medium heat.

To make a totally non-fat dessert, which is luscious as well as beautiful, buy a plain Angel Food Cake and place in the center of your presentation plate. Fill the hole in the center with your favorite cut fruit or berries, ect. On the Top— arrange thin chunks or slices of Kiwi, Oranges, Strawberries, and Blueberries and make as colorful as you want. Do the same around the base of the cake.

Then take your heated (not too hot) jelly and ladle or pour all over the fruit and the cake making sure all the fruit is coated. The colors will sparkle and the cake will absorb some of the glaze. Beautiful as well as delicious.
